Sir Isaac Newton Sir Isaac Newton, the culminating figure in the scientific revolution of the 17th century, was born on December 25, 1642 (according to the Julian calendar then in use: the date was January 4, 1643, according to the Gregorian calendar in use today), in the manor house of Woolsthorpe, near Grantham Lincolnshire, England.
