George Mason in the Virginia declaration of rights stated, “All men are by nature equally free and independent and have certain inherent rights.” In stating that every person born into this world is born with the same freedoms but based upon what culture he or she is born into certain rights may or may not be placed upon that person, Mason set the groundwork for our modern day Declaration of Independence.
