Since the beginning of Belize’s existence we, as a people, have always been influenced by “outside” cultures. European culture and traditions flooded in at the start of the colony and prevailed in “British Honduras” for many decades. Slowly, but definitely surely, Western Civilization began seeping into Belize and by the time we gained independence America had its hooks rooted deep within our very society.
