Skydiving to some may be considered an extreme sport, to others it is a hobby. Skydiving requires a discipline that is not readily required by other sports. While skydiving can be considered a skill that seems simple, it is not. Skydiving is defined by the Encarta encyclopedia as - Skydiving, sport parachuting. Modern skydivers typically free-fall from about 3650 m (about 12,000 ft) above the ground until about 750 m (about 2500 ft), where they open their parachutes.
