The First Movie
The first person to ever successfully photograph motion was Edweard Muybridge in 1877. The way he accomplished this was by lining up 20 cameras in a row. He then had a horse run past them. The horse would trip strings that were attached to each camera. This caused the camera to take a picture of the horse. This resulted in 20 pictures of a horse in the process of each consecutive movement. When he played the film on a very primitive projector, he had a horse in the process of moving.
The Lumiere brothers, Louis and Auguste, invented the first real movie camera....
