Women In Macbeth In scene 5 of act 1 we meet Lady Macbeth. She is reading a letter from Macbeth informing here of the witches prophecies. Upon reading the letter she becomes delighted and says that he will become "what thou art promised." Macbeth in allowing his wife, his "dearest partner in greatness." to know of his deepest secrets shows us that their relationship is very close. So close in fact that Lady Macbeth is aware of his every fault. She knows that he is incapable of "catching the nearest way." to the throne and lacks the "illness"(evil)....
