Hamlet Loyalty and betrayal are two major traits in the story of Hamlet. The character who sticks out the most is Claudius; he is quite the scumbag. Starting with his little flings with the queen, who just happens to be his brothers' wife, which seems a little gross in the first place? But his nasty deeds didn't end there. He is jealous of his brother so he just kills him and takes over the crown, and the queen. In doing this Cluadius not only betrays his own brother, but I think also the entire country of Denmark.
