Doctor Assisted Suicide Doctor assisted suicide has always been a controversial topic. Ever since Dr. Jack Kevorkian was introduced to us in newspapers and on television, and long before that, people have been debating over whether or not physician assisted suicide, or “euthanasia” should be legal. Loosely defined euthanasia is mercy killing. The person usually does this because of terminal illness that cannot be cured, and the person wants to avoid suffering.
