The Plague in 1347
The Plague that struck parts of Europe in 1347, better known as the “Black Death”, changed the way people thought about life, and most importantly God. The people did not understand the plague, nor were they ready to suffer from it. They feared what was upon them and new that they had no chance of escaping, “Behold, a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was Death” (Revelation 6:8). It eventually became every person for him or herself. Family members were abandoning other family member for the sole purpose of saving themselves.
