A Phobia is as defined by The American Heritage Dictionary as “any
obsessing or morbid fear or dread” (911). Ten percent of all people have an
anxiety disorder, or phobia, at some point in their lives and have had no
treatment for their problem. (The Encyclopedia of Phobias, Fears, and
Anxieties 1). Sigmund Frued, the founder of psychoanalysis, thought that
what people feared served as a symbol for some other fear. Usually, the
other fear results from an even that may have occurred earlier in one's
