Life Long Friendship
Approximately fifty years ago, I met five boys at kindergarten in the city of Nashville. What makes this fact somewhat unusual is that the other night, I met them again for dinner. Somehow, through all these years, the six of us have survived the mine field of holding on to friends and we are still together.
"The boys", as we call ourselves, began having monthly dinners a few years ago at a time when we all wanted to assure ourselves that the last mine in the mine field toward real friendship - apathy, didn't dilute our special circle of friendship that had spanned over four decades.
