The 1930s
The 1930s were times of great depression resulting in sweeping
changes. Some people starved trying to find work, while others did all they
could to just hang on a little longer. All across North America, tough
times were had by all.
My grandma had to walk two miles to school every day; the dust was
so bad that she could only see a few feet in front of her. The dust was
also so fine that it could get in anywhere there were cracks, such as
windows and doors. There was so much electricity in the air, that the ends
of the trees were bright from the electricity in them.
The cattle were very skinny because ....
