There are many things that could be said about the Nathaniel Hawthorne novel, “The Scarlet Letter.” The fact that Hester can see the devil in her own daughter’s eyes, and the way that Dimmesdale torments himself nightly with tools of pain. It is like an almost incurable disease that rips apart at their lives. I think that the focus of this book is, Guilt can rip apart your life.
