Bigger Thomas was a “nigger” in a white man’s world. He went through hardships and troublesome events. He was prejudged by just about every white person in the country; so, in this paper, I am going to prove that the American dream only applied at this time to whites.
Bigger grew up with his mother and two siblings in a small one-room apartment in Chicago. He had always been repressed by the white community, simply because he was of a different race; a race which they did not understand, so they feared and hated it. Bigger, because of this repression and prejudice, turned into a bitter, hate-filled man with no tolerance ....
