Throughout Anne Moody’s life she shows her disgust toward most whites because of the way they act toward the blacks. She tells of beatings, killings, and of those who are run out of town. She speaks of some whites such as Mrs. Claiborne and Linda Jean Jenkins as very decent people. She spoke very poorly of Mrs. Burke, who treated her as a lowly servant and not as a person.
